In response to the recent flooding in Davao Region, the overseas Chinese community in Davao City quickly launched fundraising and disaster-relief activities. On February 7th and 8th, the Chinese Consulate General in Davao, the Philippine Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. and the Davao Fil-Chinese Multisectoral Associations Inc. jointly delivered 1,500 food packs to Davao City and 4000 packs to 4 communities in Davao del Norte.

Consul General Zhao Xiuzhen, while delivering the food packs, sent the victims her best wishes for returning to normal life ASAP.

Governor Edwin I. Jubahib of Davao del Norte, Vice Governor De Carlo L. Uy and Davao City Vice Mayor J. Melchor Quitain Jr. attended the handover ceremonies and expressed their appreciation for the donations.
