Consul General Li Lin Met with Vice President Sara Duterte in the 87th Anniversary Celebration of the Office of Vice President

On November 15, Consul General Li Lin met Her Excellency Sara Duterte, Vice President and Secretary of Education of the Republic of the Philippines in the Vice President's office in Manila and attended the celebration of the 87th founding anniversary of the Office of the Vice President (OVP).

ConGen Li Lin thanked Vice President Sara Duterte for the kind invitation and shared the recent work carried out by the Chinese Consulate General in Davao, including working with the overseas Chinese in timely delivery of relief supplies to people of the tropical stormPaeng affected areas in Mindanao. He also briefed the Vice President about the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. 


Vice President Sara Duterte expressed her gratitude to the Consulate General and local Chinese community for its immediate response to assist the people affected by tropical storm. She introduced to the ConGen the reform measures of the VP office since her inauguration, including the establishment of OVP disaster operations center, setting up of OVP's satellite offices across the country for more efficient service to people in need of help, among others. She also thanked ConGen Li Lin for visiting the three OVP satellite offices in Mindanao and continuing the friendly cooperation projects with local government units (LGUs). She expressed the willingness to maintain and strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Chinese Embassy and Consulates General in the fields of education, disaster relief, poverty alleviation and economic growth.
